Glory Revealed

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 ESV)

When you hear the phrase, “You are not the point. You are not the center of the universe,” how do you respond? Do you resent the fact that you are not the point or do you rejoice in it?

Read Acts 17:25. Why do we serve God if he doesn’t need us to?

Name some idols you worship that fall short of God’s glory: (Examples listed to start conversation)

  1. The idol of approval (I want the approval of people, whatever it takes)
  2. The idol of control
  3. The idol of success
  4. The idol of security (Until I have __________, I will feel insecure)

Read John 15:11. How can we pray for you this week and through the Christmas season that the joy of Jesus might be made complete in your life? (In other words, in what areas can we pray for Christ to be more central, that you might live the way you have been intended to live?) Write them down, share them with us in the comment section of the blog, or e-mail them to us at .
