Tomorrow, when we open God’s Word together, we will take a detailed look at suffering and why, as a believer, that suffering is used by the Holy Spirit to create hope in us, not despair. Why should we hope in suffering as believers? When bad things happen, when trials and pain come our way, why should we have hope? This passage speaks specifically to that question.
…and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
(Romans 8:17-18 ESV)
We have hope in our suffering because present pain is nothing compared to future glory. Come prepared to worship God in his Word tomorrow and learn more about this critical passage.
