Thirdly, we see David’s trust in God. He goes to bed! The idea is that David knew who his God was and he prayed to Him and he knew that things would be taken care of. Christ, in the garden said, “Not my will, but thine be done.” Then He was determined to drink the cup His Father had given Him. Remember Simon Peter? He hacked off the servant of the High Priest’s ear and Christ rebuked Him saying, “Should I not drink the cup my Father has given me?” He was putting His life in the hands of His Father, knowing that the plan of the Father was the right one. Should we not also trust the Father with our lives?
Hope in the Psalms
We should trust God enough to let it rest and rest ourselves. How many of you have been in such turmoil over conflict in your family or your work or somewhere else and you lost sleep? David sets an example for us here. Get some rest, God knows your needs before you even ask Him, Jesus says.
